Get ready to kick off the festive season!
You’re invited to the City of Adelaide’s Christmas Tree Lighting Event in the heart of the city.
Join us for a wonderful, free community gathering, leading up to the magical moment when the giant Christmas tree lights up the night sky around 8:45 pm.
Led by our host Cosi, the crowd will be entertained by our headline act Charmaine Jones and Gospo before the Lord Mayor and a local primary school student officially light the tree.
There will be food trucks to choose delicious bites from, so be sure to bring your own picnic blankets for a cozy spot to soak in all the festive food and fun.
The City of Adelaide is committed to making all our events accessible. Please refer to our access guide for this event. People with mobility difficulties can book our accessible area to ensure you can view the concert with your family and friends.

A dazzling light display runs each night of the city’s Christmas festival.
The Giant Christmas Tree features 13,616 individually programmable LED lights and lighting takes place from 8:30 pm to 2:30 am each night of the Christmas Festival.
Each display loop lasts 10 minutes.
