City of Adelaide clipper ship

City of Adelaide shares its name with the world's oldest surviving clipper ship.

The City of Adelaide clipper ship was built in Sunderland, England, and launched in 1864.

City of Adelaide made 23 return trips from England to South Australia, carrying passengers and cargo and playing a key role the development of the colony.

In 2014 City of Adelaide arrived in South Australia for the first time in more than 125 years after a decade-long campaign to preserve the ship.

The ship now has a permanent home at Dock 2 in Port Adelaide and is open daily for tours from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
