Food Waste and Compostables Recycling Zone

Together, let's aim for less waste.

In collaboration with Green Industries SA, the City of Adelaide is trialling a new multi-bin system to encourage people in Rundle Mall to stop and sort their food waste, compostable packaging, and cans & bottles. Running for 12 months from August 2022, the trial aims to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill and will inform future Food Waste and Compostable Recycling Zones in the city.

The City of Adelaide is committed to reaching our Resource Recovery Vision of being the first city in Australia to achieve 'zero avoidable waste to landfill'.
