How to dispose of items not collected by Council
There are some waste items generated by businesses that are not collected by Council. To help you, we’ve put together the following information.
Please note: fees may apply for the services listed below. Costs are the responsibility of the individual business.
Hard waste
Examples of hard waste include furniture, whitegoods and building materials.
Items in good condition may be sold, donated or given away.
Restore South Australia is Habitat for Humanity’s social enterprise. It accepts and resells new and used items including building and construction products.

Second Chances SA is committed to restoring the lives of prisoners, their families and their communities. They collect good quality furniture, white goods, and electrical items.

Business hard waste can be disposed at waste transfer stations, including:
(ordered in distance from the Council boundary)
Beverley Recycling and Waste Centre
Adelaide Waste and Recycling Centre
Food waste
Council does not provide an organics recycling service to businesses.

Hazardous waste
Hazardous waste includes chemicals, solvents and asbestos.
Council does not currently provide a collection and disposal service for hazardous waste. Businesses should engage a private contractor to remove such items.
Electronic waste
Electronic waste includes the below items:
- Computers
- Televisions
- Microwaves
- Other whitegoods
A large portion of electrical waste components can be recycled if items are deposited at Unplug N' Drop.
Electrical items can be deposited at Unplug N’ Drop locations.
In addition, there are several sites accepting old TVs and computers free of charge that are near the City of Adelaide including:
