Ten Gigabit Adelaide is the City’s revolutionary fibre optic network. By providing business with low cost, uncontested, synchronous data transfer at 10Gbps speeds, there is no barrier to working fast and global.

The Adelaide community is the beneficiary of a 10-year investment partnership between Federal, State and Local Government. The $551 million City Deal will fund infrastructure supporting innovation, culture and tourism.

In many ways, Adelaide began its smart city journey in 2005 by being the first city in Australia to offer free public WiFi. That service is now poised for a major upgrade off the back of Ten Gigabit Adelaide.

In a digital-world, light poles are critical infrastructure for smart city services. Adelaide’s growing network of interoperable Multi-Function Poles allow for WiFi access points, sensors and trialling new technologies.

Internet of Things (IoT) connected devices allow us to better monitor the environment, assets and how people use the city. By networking the data-feed of multiple councils, Adelaide is becoming a world-leading living lab.

The City of Adelaide is experimenting with gaming and has released a series of Adelaide 'worlds' in the popular Minecraft game. Players can build, mine and explore the Adelaide landscape in the game.
