The History Hub, with locations in the Adelaide City Library and North Adelaide Library, has worked with a wide range of leading historical organisations and individuals to enhance the community’s connection with the City’s past and present.
History Hub programs and resources have enlightened the community with amazing exhibitions, online tours, assistance with research projects, interactive presentations, one-on-one training and more. Find out more about what the History Hub can offer you!
The History Hub includes the Adelaide Picture Collection which offers thousands of photographs of Adelaide’s surrounds including the city centre, North Adelaide and the Park Lands dating from the mid-19th Century. You can also access free history research resources including Trove and Ancestry Library Edition.

Come in and explore the City Library’s History Hub resources. You can book a dedicated History Hub computer for your individual historical research.
Customers wanting to use a History Hub computer must meet our PC conditions of use.
- Bookings are limited to one 2 hour booking per customer per day
- Your booking is for a computer reservation only and members of the public may share the space during these times
- Please provide your own storage devices.

Cancellations and feedback
If you need to cancel your one-on-one booked session, please give 24 hours’ notice in consideration for our volunteers and to open the session to other customers.
If you have any feedback about the sessions, or have any projects to discuss, we’d love to hear from you.
Volunteering
We welcome registrations of interest from volunteers. As a History Hub volunteer, you will have the opportunity to run one-on-one training of the City Library’s online historical resources with members of the public, and help with scanning and cataloguing projects.
