Connect
Our social connections support and enrich us. Connecting with family, friends, or people in your community, will give you a sense of belonging. Meet new people at a community event or spend time enjoying different activities with your family or friends.
Other ways that you can connect with people include:
- Go for a walk with a friend and greet the people you walk past
- Organise a family picnic in a city park
- Head to one of our Community Centres and participate in one of the social groups or programs
- Get along to an upcoming Community Event
- Connect with your community through the libraries
- Visit one of the cities Dog Friendly Cafes on Hutt Street
- Join an Intergenerational Playgroup, The Learning Tree for young and old friends
- Share your thoughts and make new friends at a Heart to Heart Sharing Circle
- Develop your Contract Bridge card game with good company
- Join a new MahJong evening for experienced players in a relaxed atmosphere
- Enjoy free rides on trishaw e-bikes and connect with friendly volunteer cyclists through Cycling Without Age, for people who no longer able to ride independently
Celebrate the joy of music at Park Choir, bringing together voices from diverse backgrounds
