Media Lab

Use digital technology to bring your music, animation, art or film project to life.

Located in the City Library, the Media Lab is a haven of creative inspiration to customers, artists and residents alike. Music, illustration, photography, animation and film are celebrated on a daily basis. Whether it is through volunteer run tutorial sessions, community driven Residencies or even daily enjoyment of the space, the Media Lab has something to help you realise your creative potential.

One-on-one assistance

Please note our Media Lab one-on-one sessions are currently on hold, as we are experiencing a licencing issue with our Media Lab computers.

During a one-on-one session your friendly Media Lab volunteer will work with you to answer your digital media questions. Common topics covered include: filming, animation, sound, video or photo editing.

You’ll have access to, and learn how to use the latest Macintosh and Microsoft technology, Wacom Cintiq, RODECaster Pro podcast equipment or learn industry standard software such as packages from the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, Avid Pro Tools, Sibelius and more.
