Media Lab

Library of Things

Did you know that you can use your Adelaide City Libraries membership to borrow from our Library of Things?

A Library of Things is a collection of resources that may be useful occasionally, or that you may not have the opportunity to use regularly.

Why a Library of Things?

A Library of Things is a viable way of sharing and maintaining resources sustainably instead of buying.

It contributes to building community connections and the transition to a truly circular economy and helps reduce our collective impact on the planet.

How do you use our Library of Things?

Adelaide City Libraries have a range of resources and collections you can borrow from.

Visit this link to find out about what we have on offer and visit us with your Adelaide City Libraries card to start accessing these items today or come in and sign up for a FREE membership at any of our centres.

Use digital technology to bring your music, animation, art or film project to life.

Located in the City Library, the Media Lab is a haven of creative inspiration to customers, artists and residents alike. Music, illustration, photography, animation and film are celebrated on a daily basis. Whether it is through volunteer run tutorial sessions, community driven Residencies or even daily enjoyment of the space, the Media Lab has something to help you realise your creative potential.

One-on-one assistance

During a one-on-one session your friendly Media Lab volunteer will work with you to answer your digital media questions. Common topics covered include: filming, animation, sound, video or photo editing.

You’ll have access, and learn how, to use the latest Macintosh and Microsoft technology, Wacom Cintiq, RODECaster Pro podcast equipment or learn industry standard software such as Garage Band, Avid Pro Tools, Sibelius and more.
