STEAM Loan Kits
Adelaide City Library’s new STEAM Loan Kits supports community to access emerging technologies and innovative programs which encourage connection and collaboration.
As a key role to ensure community can access new technologies, the City of Adelaide provides learning opportunities that are practical and applicable to the real world in a fun and engaging way.
- Pi-Top [4] Foundation Kit: a new game-changing, programmable computing device. Suitable for age 13 - 18 with intermediate to advanced skill level.
- KUBO Coding Core set: a new plug-and-learn Tag Tile robot. Suitable for age 4 to 10, an ideal starting point for introducing coding and computational thinking.
- Skoog Music: a tactile musical instrument. Suitable for age 0 -5, the simple shape, tactile surfaces and design provide the ideal multi-sensory music environment for all.
- 3Doodler Start Pen: 3D printing Pen designed to be safe and very easy to use. Suitable for age 6 – 13, enables children to bring all their ideas to life in 3D.
Membership
All South Australian residents with a SA Libraries Card can borrow a STEAM Loan Kit with a Full Adult membership card.
Alternatively, bring some identification with your name, address, signature, and photograph to join the library for free.
Borrowing
Maximum number of items: 1 Loan kit per person
Borrowing period: up to 28 days
Holds or extensions are unavailable.
Storage and returns
All items are to be returned to the Adelaide City Library during opening hours.
Please do not return STEAM Loan Kits via the after-hours chute as damage may occur.
Please check contents of items to ensure all pieces are included when borrowing and returning.
Report any damage or missing parts to staff when returning.
If the loan kit is lost, stolen or damaged full or partial replacement fees and a processing fee will apply.
We suggest you keep the items in a separate place at home to reduce the likelihood of damage or mixing with other toys.
