OmMade Meet the Maker takes to the streets
Shining the spotlight on local makers and curators who are passionate about local and ethically sourced products, OmMade Meet the Maker was born in 2018 by Tina Walsh from OmMade Organic Skincare.
"Our unique retail concept not only makes it easy to support small, family-owned businesses, but you can also meet the makers behind each product and build a direct relationship with their brand", says Tina.
When the City of Adelaide launched its Reignite Adelaide Streetside Activation Grant, Tina decided to take her business to the streets to attract new customers and activate Rundle Mall with a unique market stall.
"Despite the poor weather on the weekend of the activation, the response was amazing. Sales increased threefold and we have since had customers returning and letting us know that they first saw us during the pop up in the Mall."
"We used the funding from the grant to hire equipment and pay for signage to have a pop-up market style stall in front of Sussan. The purpose of the activation was to tell customers, who would otherwise not go down the end of Rundle Place, where we are and what we have to offer."
In an effort to support city businesses and encourage people to come back to the city, in 2021 the City of Adelaide launched over 20 initiatives, including the Streetside Activation Grant, as part of Reignite Adelaide.
