Park & Play in the City This November
There has never been a better time to park in the city and enjoy all of the adventures on offer, with deals and rewards available throughout November.
The Park & Play campaign follows a decision by Council to host a driver’s month during November to encourage more people to visit the city and North Adelaide.
Park & Play benefits include:
- All on-street parking fees discounted by 25 per cent during November when paid via the Park Adelaide app
- On-street parking giving you the chance each day during November to win $100 to spend at city businesses
- $2 parking available at UPark on nights and weekends when booking online
Councillor Jessy Khera who brought the idea to Council said it was all about making it easier for people to come back into the city and support city businesses, which are doing it tough due to decreased foot traffic since the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said he wanted to show people that parking in the city is easy, and Park & Play provides a package of incentives to make life easier for people who drive and park in the city.
“I brought this motion to Council to help people who choose to drive by making it easier and more affordable to park in the city,” said Councillor Khera.
“By doing so, we will see more people shopping and spending time in the city at our excellent eateries and pubs and we know how much these businesses need the extra support as we recover from the pandemic.
“Importantly, Park & Play doesn’t negate any of our other efforts to encourage people to cycle, ride e-scooters, walk or use the bus, trains and trams.”
Lord Mayor Sandy Verschoor said that Adelaide is already amongst the cheapest and easiest places to park in the nation and hoped Park & Play would contribute to even more people returning to the city as we recover from COVID-19.
“We welcome all modes of transport in the city but November is about having this additional focus on Park & Play and making parking in the city even easier,” said the Lord Mayor.
