Public Art on Power Boxes – Hutt Street
Hutt Street
We are bringing public art to our power boxes on Hutt Street this Summer using our public realm as the gallery space.
Renowned artist Ella Simpson (@inkandrubystudios) has created tailored artworks specifically for Hutt Street utilising the vision and identity of Hutt Street
The artworks show an assembly of graphics and colours designed to express the main street’s unique image and essence.
Hutt Street's leafy green streetscape, historic village charm with an exciting variety of commercial, dining and social experiences ensure it is the pride of its growing community and a popular destination for locals and visitors alike.
The design features include:
- The Yellow Tail Black Cockatoo, gum leaves and flowers with the iconic Hutt Street pink roses.
- The Australian Wattle flower, coffee cups, bouquet of flowers and Hutt St dog.
- The chequered copper butterfly, the Hutt St clock, and Australian pink wax flower.
All designed have been produced in a repetitive pattern to create a sense of place and have been installed across the street to unify the essence of Hutt Street.
The project aims to increase public art throughout the city and revitalise the main street as a key destination and attractor for businesses, residents, visitors, and tourists on Hutt Street.
