The City of Adelaide Prize is an award that promotes and awards design outcomes that celebrate the city. Its purpose is to recognise and award projects that enhance the community’s experience in the City of Adelaide.

In presenting the prize, the City of Adelaide aims to:

  • Provide leadership in the design of the public realm
  • Highlight the role of design in the creation of successful public places
  • Promote good design to the broader community

Sponsored by Council, the prize is a category within the prestigious SA Architectural Awards Program and the Awards Presentation. Over the years Council has worked with the SA Institute of Architects to celebrate exceptional urban design as well as a shared vision to create a vibrant city through this prize.

Lord Mayor Sandy Verschoor said that the City of Adelaide has a long association with the prize, which attracts innovative projects that demonstrate exceptional urban design.

“Year after year I am impressed by the sheer amount of innovation and creativity that’s on offer in our city,” the Lord Mayor said.

“I congratulate all of our nominees and I encourage everyone to get involved and vote for their favourite project before the ballots close on 30 April this year.”

Innovative projects that enliven our city were encouraged to nominate for the 2021 City of Adelaide Prize.
