UPark Plus extended

Due to popular demand, the City of Adelaide is extending its touch-free, $8 capped daily parking offer across all nine UPark locations until the end of June.

Lord Mayor Sandy Verschoor said the offer had been hugely popular and continuing it would greatly assist businesses and workers as more and more people returned to the city.

“UPark Plus allows city workers and visitors to easily park in the city, at a capped price, without having to worry about touching any ticket machines or repeatedly pre-booking online,” the Lord Mayor said.

“We have seen a huge uptake in demand as more people have returned to the city and with cafes and restaurants now starting to open, people will able to enjoy dinner out or a drink after work without having to pay extra parking fees.

“UPark Plus reduces the need for people to catch public transport to and from the city and allows for better social distancing.”

Announced at the beginning of April, UPark Plus was developed in partnership with Adelaide-based organisations ADVAM and DESIGNA Australia to provide safe and affordable parking to city workers and businesses.

The council will continue to monitor the UPark Plus offer to assist those wishing to travel to the city via car and will continue to offer the ‘tap and pay (cashless) technology’ as and when we come out of the current Covid-19 restrictions and well into the future.

To use UPark Plus, you must sign up online and will be sent out a card via Australia Post or you can collect at the City of Adelaide Customer Centre on Pirie St.

The UPark Plus offer followed a comprehensive $4 million support package provided to our community in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
