Taking care of business
As businesses across the city start to get back on their feet, the City of Adelaide has further expanded its COVID-19 response, launching a new City Business Support Package to be delivered by Business SA.
The new partnership will help businesses bounce back from the crisis, with access to specialised support services over the next two years.
Lord Mayor Sandy Verschoor said that the City of Adelaide was determined to help businesses not only recover from the pandemic but thrive into the future.
“The new City Business Support Package will provide the support and expert advice needed for our businesses to survive this unprecedented event but also to come out the other side even stronger,” said the Lord Mayor.
“We recognise the vital role our city and North Adelaide businesses play in growing the state’s economy – which is more important now than ever.
“It’s crucial businesses and all levels of government work together to do all we can to ensure South Australia can weather this economic storm.”
Business SA CEO, Martin Haese, commended the City of Adelaide for going the extra mile to support its local business community.
“These are challenging times and Business SA is pleased to play a role in ensuring city businesses have access to the support and advice they need to get back to business,” said Mr Haese.
“This partnership with the City of Adelaide is part of Business SA’s work with local councils right across South Australia to provide tailored business support packages to hundreds of small business as they attempt to recover from COVID-19.
“This recovery will take years not months and Business SA, as the State’s independent and peak industry body for all businesses, is here for the long haul.”
The new City Business Support Package includes access for city businesses to a bespoke Business SA support package with benefits such as the use of a Business Advice Hotline, accounting and compliance support, mental health support services, digital coaching, grant and tender support, learning webinars and networking events.
