The City of Adelaide has identified a number of key lockboxes attached to the York Street façade of the UPark Rundle carpark, located between Rundle Street and York Street, Adelaide.

These lockboxes have been affixed to Council property without the permission of the Council and are therefore in breach of Clause 5.3 of the Local Government Land By-law 2024.

The City of Adelaide hereby gives notice that:

  • All lockboxes must be removed within forty-two (42) days of the date of this notice, being no later than 28 May 2025.
  • If lockboxes are not removed by that time, they will be removed by Council and treated as unclaimed goods under the Unclaimed Goods Act 1987.

University of South Australia April Graduation Ceremonies 2025 will take place on Hindley Street between Clarendon and Liverpool on Monday 14 April on Thursday 17 April 2025 and Tuesday 22 April to Thursday 24 April 2025.

Council has made an order to close the roads below to traffic as provided in Section 33(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Act.

Hindley Street between Clarendon and Liverpool will be closed during the following date and times:

  • From Monday 14 April 2025 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
  • From Tuesday 15 April 2025 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
  • From Wednesday 16 April 2025 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
  • From Thursday 17 April 2025 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
  • From Tuesday 22 April 2025 8:30 am to 5:30 pm

Participants in Hindley, during the date and times listed above, are exempt from the duty to observe all Australian Road Rules relating to pedestrian behaviour.

2025 Anzac Day Dawn Service, Light Horse Memorial Service and Commemorative March will take place on Friday 25 April 2025.

Council has made an order to close the roads below to traffic as provided in Section 33(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Act.

Waymouth Street, between Bentham Street and Young Street. will be closed during the following date and times:

From 6.00 am and 11.59 pm on Friday 25 April 2025.

Persons taking part in this event are exempt from all Australian Road Rules relating to pedestrian behaviour on roads.

Persons taking part in the Union Hotel's Anzac Day Street Party on the above road be exempted from all Australian Road Rules relating to pedestrian behaviour on roads.

Emergency vehicles are exempt from road closure in emergency situations.

From 11:45 am to 8:00 pm on Saturday 26 April 2025 the following road will be closed:

  • War Memorial Drive between Riverbank Footbridge and King William Road.

From 6:05 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday 26 April 2025 the following road will be closed:

  • King William Street (northern bound carriageways) between Currie Street and North Terrace.
  • King William Road between North Terrace and Pennington Terrace.
  • Festival Drive from King William Road to a point 80 meters west.
  • Sir Edwin Smith Avenue between Kermode Street and King William Road.
  • Victoria Drive between Kintore Avenue and King William Road.
  • War Memorial Drive from Sir Edwin Smith Avenue to a point 180 meters east.
  • Montefiore Road (single southbound carriageway) from a point 25 meters south of War Memorial Drive to a point 170 meters north of Festival Drive.
  • Pennington Terrace between Palmer Place and King William Road.

From 6:15 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday 26 April 2025 the following road will be closed:

  • North Terrace between Victoria Street and King William Road.

Old Crock's Run - Roaring Start on Hutt Street will take place on Hutt Street on Sunday 4 May 2025.

Council has made an order to close the roads below to traffic as provided in Section 33(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Act.

Hutt Street will be closed during the following date and times:

From 7:00 am and 11.30 am on Sunday 4 May 2025

Persons taking part in this event are exempt from all Australian Road Rules relating to pedestrian behaviour on roads.

Persons taking part in the Old Crock’s Run on the above road be exempted from all Australian Road Rules relating to pedestrian behaviour on roads.

Emergency vehicles are exempt from road closure in emergency situations.

Meander Market will take place on Jerningham Street on Saturday 10 May 2025.

Council has made an order to close the roads below to traffic as provided in Section 33(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Act.

Jerningham Street between Melbourne Street and a point 62 metres south will be closed, with 25 km/h event speed restrictions along Melbourne Street during the following date and times:

From 7:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday 10 May 2025.

Persons taking part in this event are exempt from all Australian Road Rules relating to pedestrian behaviour on roads.

Persons taking part in the Meander Market on the above road be exempted from all Australian Road Rules relating to pedestrian behaviour on roads.

Emergency vehicles are exempt from road closure in emergency situations.

Following feedback from the Legislative Review Committee, three minor amendments are proposed. The amendments include:

* Moveable Signs By-Law 2024, By-law No. 2: Ensuring that any consideration by an Authorised Officer relating to a Moveable Sign is 'reasonably' objective
* Local Government Land By-Law 2024, By-law No. 3:
* Tightening up references to ensure operators given permission to use forklifts in the Central Market have the required licenses
* Correcting cross referencing of a certain section in the by-law.

The City of Adelaide gives notice of its proposal to amend the Community Land Management Plan for the Adelaide Central Market. The community land parcel is identified as Allotment 1000 Deposited Plan 127498, Certificate of Title Volume 6257 Folio 377 at 44-60 Gouger Street, Adelaide.

The proposed amendment to the Community Land Management Plan is the change of use at the Grote Street Building (which includes Federal Hall and Market Tower). The proposed use is events and activation space for hire, commercial and retail consistent with the ground floor of the Adelaide Central Market.

The City of Adelaide is seeking feedback on:

  • Amended Community Land Management Plan – Adelaide Central Market.
  • Grote Street Building change of use for events and activation space for hire and commercial and retail.

Under the Local Government Act 1999 (SA) Council is required to undertake a public consultation in accordance with its public consultation policy before it amends a Community Land Management Plan.

Copies of the draft proposal are available for inspection at the Council’s principal office, 25 Pirie Street Adelaide SA 5000, Market Stall at the Adelaide Central Market, and the following Council libraries/centres: City Library; Hutt Street Library; North Adelaide Library and Community Centre; Minor Works Building Community Centre; Box Factory Community Centre.

The City of Adelaide would like your feedback on an application for a City Works Permit from Besix Watpac for the westbound road closure and the southern footpath closure of Halifax Street between Howard Florey Street and Gilles Lane from 7:00 am Saturday 22 to 7:00 pm Sunday 23 March 2025 to facilitate the installation of a tower crane. Pursuant to section 223 of the Local Government Act 1999, City of Adelaide is conducting public consultation on a permit application for an Arts and Culture Music Festival which requires a road closure that may significantly impede the passage of traffic: The Arts and Culture Music Festival seeks to close of portion of Bartels Road, between East Terrace and Dequetteville Terrace, from either, 5:00 am on Wednesday 22 October 2025 until 11:59 pm on Monday 27 October 2025; or 5:00 am on Wednesday 29 October 2025 until 11:59 pm on Monday 3 November 2025.
