Road closures

Tasting Australia 2026 will take place at Victoria Square between Friday 8 May 2026 until Sunday 17 May 2026.

Council has made an order to close the roads below to traffic as provided in Section 33(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Act.

From 6:00 am on Monday 13 April 2026 to 5:00 pm on Saturday 23 May 2026, the following road will be closed:

  • King William Street (Victoria Square) - Partial lane (right hand southbound turning lane) between Flinders Street to a point 75 metres south

From 5:30 pm on Monday 11 May 2026 to 9:30 pm on Monday 11 May 2026, the following road will be closed:

  • Reconciliation Plaza between Grote Street and Wakefield Street

Participants in King William Street (Victoria Square) and Reconciliation Plaza, during the date and times listed above are exempt from the duty to observe all Australian Road Rules relating to pedestrian behaviour.

Adelaide Crows will take on St Kilda at Adelaide Oval on Saturday 18 April 2026.

From 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm on Saturday 18 April 2026 , the following road will be closed:

  • War Memorial Drive between the Riverbank Footbridge and King William Road.

From 9:20 pm to 11:30 pm on Saturday 18 April 2026, the following roads will be closed:

  • King William Street ( northbound lanes) between Currie Street and North Terrace.
  • King William Road between North Terrace and Pennington Terrace.
  • Festival Drive from King William Road to a point 80 meters west.
  • Sir Edwin Smith Avenue between Kermode Street and King William Road.
  • Victoria Drive between Kintore Avenue and King William Road.
  • War Memorial Drive from Sir Edwin Smith Avenue to a point 180 meters east.
  • Pennington Terrace between Palmer Place and King William Road.
  • Montefiore Road (single southbound lane) from a point 22 meters north of War Memorial Drive to a point 350 meters south of Montefiore Hill.
  • Montefiore Road (single southbound lane) from a point 22 meters south of War Memorial Drive to a point 171 meters north of Festival Drive.

From 9:30 pm to 11:30 pm on Saturday 18 April 2026, the following roads will be closed:

  • North Terrace between Victoria Street and King William Road.

Participants on the closed roads during the date and times specified above are exempt from the duty to observe all Australian Road Rules relating to pedestrian behaviour. Emergency and authorised vehicles are exempt from road closures as indicated by the signage. SA Police may vary the road closure times at their discretion. S/Sgt Holland. Union Hotel ANZAC Day Street Party 2026 will take place at The Union Hotel on Waymouth Street between 10:00 am until 10:00 pm on Saturday 25 April 2026.

Council has made an order to close the roads below to traffic as provided in Section 33(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Act.

Waymouth Street between Young Street and Bentham Street will be closed during the following date and times:

  • From 6:00 am on Saturday 25 April 2026 to 11:59 pm on Saturday 25 April 2026.

Participants in Waymouth Street, during the date and times listed above are exempt from the duty to observe all Australian Road Rules relating to pedestrian behaviour.
