Adoption of Valuations and Declaration of Rates

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Adelaide at its meeting held on 28 June 2022 and for the year ending 30 June 2023:

1. Adopted for rating purposes the valuations prepared by Valuers employed by the City of Adelaide of annual values applicable to land within the Council area totalling $1,187,258,452 of which $940,447,250 is for rateable land.

2. Declared differential general rates based upon the use of land as follows:

2.1 0.1149 rate in the dollar for all rateable land with a residential land use; and

2.2 0.2298 rate in the dollar for all rateable land with a vacant land use; and

2.3 0.1408 rate in the dollar for all other rateable land in the Council area.

3. Declared a separate rate of 0.00223 rate in the dollar (the Regional Landscape Levy (formerly the NRM Levy)) on all rateable land in the Council area to recover the amount of $2,096,521 payable to the Green Adelaide Board (formerly the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resource Management Board).

4. Declared a separate rate of 0.03582 rate in the dollar (the Rundle Mall Differential Separate Rate) on all rateable land except that with a residential land use within the ‘Rundle Mall Precinct’ (as defined) to fund marketing and management of the precinct, including actions and initiatives to promote Rundle Mall as a destination for shopping and to enhance the vibrancy of the precinct.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to section 210 of the Local Government Act 1999 that, at least three (3) months after the date of this notice of 9 November 2023, Council intends to declare the private road named “Charles Place” on Deposited Plan 13457 (which said private road commences on the eastern side of Charles Street (approximately 35 meters north of Rundle Mall) and runs in an easterly direction for approximately 29 meters) to be public road.

  • Flinders Street from Hutt Street to a point 33.97 meters west
  • Hutt Street between Bartels Road and Infold Street
  • Pirie Street from Hutt Street to a point 63.18 meters west
  • Tucker Street from Hutt Street to a point 22.90 meters west

The following roads will be closed from 6:00 am on Friday 17 November to 6:00 am on Thursday 30 November

  • East Terrace from Bartels Road to a point 27 meters south of the East Terrace/Wakefield Road intersection
  • Flinders Street East between Hutt Street and East Terrace
  • Nil Street from East Terrace and a point 48 meters west
  • Wakefield Road between Dequetteville Terrace and East Terrace
  • Wakefield Street from East Terrace to a point 64.21 meters west

The following roads will be closed from 9:00 pm to 11:59 pm on Friday 24 November

  • East Terrace between Rundle Road and Grenfell Street
  • Grenfell Street between Union Street and East Terrace

The following roads will be closed from 9:00 pm to 11:59 pm on Saturday 25 November

  • East Terrace between Rundle Road and Grenfell Street
  • Grenfell Street between Union Street and East Terrace

The following roads will be closed from 9:00 pm to 11:59 pm on Sunday 26 November

  • East Terrace between Rundle Road and Grenfell Street
  • Grenfell Street between Union Street and East Terrace

These roads have been approved by South Australian Motor Sport Act 1984

Times: 7:00 am to 5:00 pm

Road Closure Schedule:

Between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm on Saturday 2 December 2023, the following road will be closed:

  • Jerningham Street, North Adelaide between Melbourne Street and Provost Street

Participants on the closed road during the times and dates listed above are exempt from the duty to observe all Australian Road Rules relating to pedestrian behaviour on roads, and the way vehicles are parked on the closed roads.

Person’s taking part in this event are exempt from all Australian Road Rules relating to pedestrian behaviour on roads.

  • Union Street between Rundle Street and Sym Choon Lane

Persons taking part in this event are exempt from all Australian Road Rules relating to pedestrian behaviour on roads. Persons taking part in the ‘Ebenezer Night Markets’ on the above road be exempted from all Australian Road Rules relating to pedestrian behaviour on roads. Emergency vehicles are exempt from road closure in emergency situations.

The following notices have been open for consultation in the past three months. 

The consultation period has now closed. 

The City of Adelaide has published a notice in the 26 October 2023 edition of the South Australian Government Gazette of its intention to conduct public consultation on its Draft Strategic Plan 2024-2028 from 27 October 2023 to 20 November 2023.

Under Section 122 of the Local Government Act 1999, public consultation is required on the City of Adelaide Draft Strategic Plan 2024-2028 before it can be adopted by Council.

All submissions must be received by 9.00 am, Monday 20 November 2023.

The City of Adelaide is seeking community feedback on the draft Behavioural Support Policy to inform the development of the policy prior to the adoption by Council.

In recent legislative changes to the Local Government Act, 1999, a Behavioural Management Framework was established to strengthen the behavioural standards and management processes for Council members in the performance of their official functions and duties.

The Framework requires all South Australian councils to have a Behavioural Management Policy and the option to develop a Behavioural Support Policy.

Copies of the proposed draft Behavioural Support Policy are available for inspection and purchase at the Council’s Customer Centre, 25 Pirie Street Adelaide SA 5000.

Consultation is open from Monday 4 September 2023 at 9:00 am.

Consultation closes on Thursday 5 October 2023 at 5:00 pm.

The City of Adelaide (CoA) would like your feedback on an application for a City Works Permit from Flo Traffic Services and Pelligra for:

The full road closure of Pirie Street between Gawler Place and Wyatt Street for multiple weekends from 12 August to 31 December 2023*. Road closure will be either 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Saturday and Sunday or 7:00 pm Saturday to 7:00 am Sunday only, to facilitate multiple crane lifts.

(*not all weekends will be included and will be dependent on weather, events and other activities).

Consultation opens Tuesday 18 July 2023.

The City of Adelaide has published notice in the 6 July 2023 edition of the South Australian Government Gazette of its intention to conduct public consultation on the draft Community Land Management Plan for the Adelaide Park Lands from 7 July 2023 to 31 July 2023.

Under the Local Government Act 1999, public consultation is required on a proposed management plan for community land before the plan can be considered for adoption by Council.

All submissions must be received by 9.00 am, Monday 31 July 2023.
