The content of this media release is over six months old and may no longer be current.

The inaugural AEDA Business Summit, presented by the Adelaide Economic Development Agency, will provide insights into challenges and future growth opportunities for the Adelaide CBD.

Headlined by Bernard Salt AM, the event will bring together speakers including industry leaders in economics, commercial property, retail and the visitor economy.

Bernard Salt AM is widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading social commentators and heads The Demographics Group which provides advice on demographic, consumer and social trends for businesses.

Salt will discuss how Covid has changed people’s mindsets, their behaviours and the role of CBDs in a post Covid environment. He will participate in a panel session ‘Building Adelaide in a post Covid world’ which will further delve into how Adelaide can prosper, create jobs, attract people and enhance its liveability.

Other speakers will focus on the economic environment in the city, skills and workforce challenges, the future of commercial property in an era of hybrid working arrangements, kickstarting the visitor economy and the future of retail.

Throughout the day, the latest research on the city’s economy will be presented, including data on the intentions of Adelaide’s larger firms to encourage people back into the office.

“We’re thrilled to have Bernard Salt for the keynote address at the inaugural AEDA Business Summit,” says Ian Hill, Managing Director, AEDA.

“It’s an opportune time for Adelaide’s economy and this event will provide world class insights that businesses, government and other organisations can use to inform their day-to-day operations and shape their future strategies.

“We know that the last few years have been extremely challenging for many local firms, however we have seen rapid growth in others. There are significant prospects moving forward and this event aims to highlight some of those.

“The Summit provides a great opportunity for business owners, government and industry leaders to come together to discuss and identify opportunities for collaboration and growth.”

Breakout sessions will cover a range of industry sectors including commercial property, the visitor economy, future of retail, and workforce and skills.

AEDA recognises the value of bringing the business community together and is offering early bird introductory ticket pricing for the Summit to maximise involvement.
