The City of Adelaide is pleased to announce that three South Australian business leaders have joined the board of the iconic Adelaide Central Market for the next three years.

The Adelaide Central Market Authority welcomes communications expert Nicole Haack, corporate governance and human resources leader Christine Locher and food industry chief Steve Marafiote.

The appointments follow the recent announcement that Theo Maras AM will be the next Chair of the Adelaide Central Market Authority.

Council recommended Mr Maras be on the Board Selection Panel to enable the timely progression of the further Board appointments for Council approval.

Mr Maras said the high-profile trio bring vital skills and experience to the board.

“In Nicole we have a strong strategic communicator who’s adept in stakeholder engagement,

Christine brings her extensive experience in corporate governance and HR, while Steve’s food production and retail sector knowledge is a perfect fit,” said Mr Maras.

“These are three well-known and experienced local people who I know will make a strong contribution and I look forward to working closely with them.”

Lord Mayor Sandy Verschoor said the Board Selection Panel had chosen well.

“I’m sure the panel had a strong field of candidates to consider and I know that in Nicole, Christine and Steve, we have three highly-respected and talented people joining the board,” said the Lord Mayor.

“Along with Theo, they add real value to the leadership of the world-renowned Adelaide Central Market during such an important period.”
