The mannequins on Melbourne Street
Melbourne Street
Have you seen the new mannequins that have started to appear on Melbourne Street?
The mannequins are hand-wrought bespoke designs that serve as a nod to Melbourne Street’s fashion legacy, create a focal point on the street and act as a real point of difference. Each mannequin has its own individual character with design quirks integrated into each structure by their talented creator David Gates.
The mannequins located at the corner of Melbourne Street and Jerningham Street have provided an opportunity for installations that have changed over the seasons.
The most recent installation is a sparkly chandelier bodice effect over black glitter ballet skirts, with a lighting element at night to coincide with Illuminate 2022.
