Frida Florals on Melbourne Street
The stunning installation of florals adorning the balcony of The Lion Hotel on Melbourne Street are part of the Frida & Diego: City Trail and are inspired by the extraordinary life and works of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.
Installed by bespoke floral designers Studio Botanic, the pallet of colour is reminiscent of Frida’s most iconic works and borrows from the florals worn by Frida and the lush foliage of her beloved home ‘Casa Azul’, while paying homage to the often hand-made traditional Mexican décor.
The mannequins opposite The Lion Hotel on Melbourne St complement the installation with a flourish of Frida inspired florals and skirts adorned by the face of Frida.
These breathtaking florals complement the exclusive exhibition Frida & Diego: Love & Revolution held at the Art Gallery of South Australia from 24th June – 17th September. This exhibition includes iconic works by two of the most influential and loved artists of the twentieth century – Frida Kahlo & Diego Rivera. Click here for tickets.
