Shake off your winter coat, feel the sun on your back as you warm up and see Adelaide bloom into spring with a colourful bouquet of events and activities all over town.

This season indulge in everything from fashion parades in Rundle Mall, to art markets in Victoria Square, to family and cultural festivals designed to suit all walks of life.

Councillor Megan Hender said spring offers something for everyone in the city.

“With the warmer weather approaching, I’m inviting everyone to discover what’s new in the city in spring,” said Megan.

“There’s a huge variety of interesting events and something for everyone - from free events such as Splash Adelaide’s Hula Hoop Day to major events like Oz Asia, Indofest and the Australian Masters Games.”

City of Adelaide has also produced a range of city itineraries and guides allowing people to explore Adelaide at its finest in spring including Adelaide’s Top Ten Sights and Activities, a Top Five for Families and Top Five for Teens.

Included in the list is a weekly 5 After 5 set of suggestions to keep locals up-to-date on new ways to re-discover their evenings in the city.

In addition, in preparation for the warmer weather and the 2016 Santos Tour Down Under people can get on their bikes with Bike 2 Eat returning to Adelaide’s streets, more than 20 Free Bike Hire nodes, free bike safety checks on PARK(ing) Day and ongoing bike skills classes.

“These events and activities really are a great chance for people to see our city streets and laneways come to life, get active and participate in the city,” said Megan.
