Adelaide Town Hall will come alive with the sound of Christmas music next Tuesday 3rd December with The Lord Mayor’s Gala for All Season’s Christmas Concert commencing at 12.30pm.

Councillor Megan Hender will attend the event for the first time and be on hand to welcome guests on behalf of the Council with their friends and families who’ve come to enjoy the Christmas season.

“Come along and celebrate the festive season with me, there’ll be story-telling, Christmas carols, sing-alongs and a range of other entertainment for people of all ages to enjoy,” Megan said.

This year, for the first time, CEO and Artistic Director of State Opera SA, Timothy Sexton will be Master of Ceremonies at the event which includes arm chair chats, live performances and lots of Christmas spirit and cheer.

“I’m really looking forward to chatting with Adelaide-born award winning author Hannah Kent, and celebrity chef Callum Hahn and helping to bring their stories to life,” said Tim.

“Later in the show I will be joining some of the State Opera’s principal artists and chorus members who will perform samples of the upcoming Adelaide Festival Centre Christmas Proms repertoire, so it should be a lot of fun for everyone.

“As well as traditional Christmas carol singing, Father Christmas and his elves, there’ll be a performance by Adelaide a cappella choir, Adelaide Sound Connection, and the Adelaide Youth Wind Orchestra, sporting a band of forty young people will also be part of the mix,” he said.

The concert will be held from 12.30pm to 2.30pm in the Town Hall Auditorium and will include a 20 minute interval for tea, coffee and biscuits.

“Seats are selling fast, so get in quick and make sure you join me for an afternoon of fun,” Megan said.
