City of Adelaide has now received and evaluated the results of soil testing in Ityamai-itpina (Park 15) and these results have also been reviewed by an independent consultant.

In line with the recommendation from the initial report and the independent reviewer, Council will re-open the play space to Christian Brothers College students and the public from Monday.

Council takes public safety very seriously and the people who use our city are our priority which is why the play space was temporarily closed for further testing late last year.

Lord Mayor Martin Haese commended the swift action of Council staff in temporarily closing the play space while further testing took place.

“We are very pleased to be reopening the play space so children and families can enjoy this aspect of the Park Lands and with the certainty that it is safe for everyone,” said Martin.
