Hop into Easter in the City

Whether it’s shopping, sport or just some special time with family and friends you’re looking forward to this Easter, the city and North Adelaide has it all. With over 700 specialty stores, Rundle Mall will be a hive of activity, as will the Adelaide Central Market and there are some huge games of sport on offer at Adelaide Oval. Lord Mayor Martin Haese said the Adelaide Central Market will enjoy its busiest week of the year.

“We want everyone to come and experience the freshest produce this Easter, with a variety of delicious seafood, fruit and vegetables and other goods for your celebrations,” said Martin.

The Adelaide Central Market has been open for extended trading hours in the lead up to Easter and is open until 7.00pm tomorrow. Please click here to view full trading hours. Stores in Rundle Mall are open from 9am - 5pm Saturday 26 March and from 11am - 5pm Sunday 27 & Monday 28 March

There will be lots of free fun for kids and entertainment for the whole family including street theatre and special appearances by the Easter Bunny. Haigh’s Chief Executive Alister Haigh said the business was looking forward to its busiest time of the year continuing over the long weekend as the proudly SA-owned retailer celebrates its 100th Easter.

“With the fine weather predicted, our team is looking forward to a bumper few days with extended trading hours and big crowds flocking to our Rundle Mall, Adelaide Arcade and Central Market Arcade locations,” said Alister. “There’s that great variety of shops and events in the city that you just can’t get elsewhere, so we’re encouraging everyone to come and get their chocolate gifts and enjoy all the city has to offer.”

Besides the shopping, the city also plays host to the Socceroos with the FIFA World Cup qualifier tomorrow night against Tajikistan at the magnificent Adelaide Oval, where the AFL season also kicks off on Sunday with Port taking on the Saints.

Easter is also a special time for people to spend quiet time together and, as the City of Churches, there’s a range of church services people can attend in the city and North Adelaide, including:
