City of Adelaide Announces New Elected Member

City of Adelaide has today announced its newest elected member, replacing former Councillor Robert Simms who resigned in September.

Former City of Adelaide General Manager Sandy Verschoor was today selected as the Council’s newest member, bringing extensive experience and knowledge of council and the city to the role. The role is provisional until Ms Verschoor is sworn in on the 15 December.

Ms Verschoor is currently employed as the General Manager and Producer for the acclaimed Windmill Theatre, serves as Chair of the SA Writers Centre, and is a board member on the Adelaide Festival of Ideas and the Arts Industry Council.

She has made a positive difference to Adelaide's vibrancy over the last 20 years in leadership roles, having grown some of the city’s best event brands and steered the city's activation strategy.

Ms Verschoor’s campaign focused on striving to make Adelaide the smartest, most innovative and creative city possible and attracting more residents, visitors and more job opportunities, with a commitment to Adelaide’s evolution as a progressive, dynamic, and sustainable city.
