Jacqueline gillen

Jacqueline (also known as Jacquie) Gillen (1958-), architect and planner, was an elected Councillor of the City of Adelaide 1989–1993. While Projects Officer of the Australian Conservation Foundation, Gillen was appointed to the State Management Committee for the Year of Landcare 1990 by then State Minister of Education, Tertiary Education, Agriculture and State Development, the Hon Lynn Arnold AO, who later became Premier of South Australia.

A pro-heritage member of Council, Gillen was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Works and Parks Committee. She published various articles for Habitat Australia related to planning and conservation, including Coongie Lakes-South Australia: new scheme puts conservation last (1989), Flinders Ranges: from national park to urban playground (1990), and 2020 Vision: the South Australian Planning Review (1992). After serving on Council, Gillen moved to Canberra to become National Liaison Officer for the Australian Conservation Foundation.
