Elder Park on the beautiful banks of the River Torrens, as the sun sets and the atmosphere builds for a memorable celebration of all that was 2014, on New Year’s Eve from 7pm, is the place to be.

Winner of the 2014 Australian Event State Award ‘Best Community Event’, the free concert kicks off with Corey Theatre, Thom Lion and The Tamers, Alphabette, Prime, Echo and the Empress, and The Timbers.

Ryley’s DJ set will accompany the Nine News Fireworks, designed by award-winning Foti International Fireworks, set to light up the riverbank at 9pm for a 10 minute display, and midnight for the full 15 minute display including fireworks launched from the new Riverbank Footbridge for the very first time.

Lord Mayor Martin Haese said New Year’s Eve celebrations in the city are a fantastic tradition for families and friends to get together and celebrate the New Year in a safe, friendly space with the stunning Elder Park Rotunda in full restoration glory.

Working with the Access and Inclusion Panel, the accessible viewing area for this year’s event has been expanded and is located along the footpath close to the Elder Park Café. Disability parking is available at the Torrens Parade Ground, where Disability Parking Permits need to be displayed.

The Channel Nine Family Area, located near the Elder Park Café, will cater for families with children.

An array of food will be available from mobile food vendors and beverages will be available from the licensed beer gardens and as with previous years, BYO alcohol is not permitted.

With crowds expecting to exceed 30,000, it’s important to plan the journey in and out of the city.
