The City Library will host an eclectic range of artists exhibiting as part of SALA 2015 and it all starts with tonight’s official opening, hosted by ABC Radio’s Sonya Feldhoff in the City Library.

SALA at the City Library will be officially opened by City of Adelaidelor Susan Clearihan at 6:00pm this evening. SALA (South Australian Living Artists) Festival is a state-wide festival of Visual Art established in 1998 to promote and celebrate the many talented Visual artists in South Australia.

Lord Mayor Martin Haese said that the great thing about SALA is it activates City spaces during the cooler months and helps build our reputation as a vibrant City.

“I’m passionate about what SALA brings to our community and I encourage everyone to come into the City to experience a range of new and inspiring artworks in our diverse spaces,” Martin said.

“Council is making an extra special effort in this, our 175th year, to make this year’s festival one to remember and I can’t think of a better place to showcase and celebrate visual arts than at our fantastic City Library.”

Sonya Feldhoff said she was honoured to be invited to host tonight’s launch.

“I love this festival and how it allows so many artists to get an opportunity to exhibit in such a welcoming and creative space like the City Library,” Sonya said.

The SALA exhibition will run during City Library opening hours from 31 July to 1 September.

City Library’s most recent Artist in Residence, Dan Withey, will premiere his latest work for The Collections Project as part of his three-month collaboration with City Library and Guildhouse.

Venue: City Library, Level 3 Rundle Place, Rundle Mall. Main entrance: Via Francis Street.

Alternate entrance: Rundle Place car park lifts to Level 6.
