Lord Mayor’s Christmas Gala Concert 2015
Adelaide Town Hall will be alive with the sound of Christmas music on Sunday 6 December from 2pm with the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Gala Concert for 2015.
In 2014, the newly appointed Lord Mayor Martin Haese and Lady Mayoress Genevieve Theseira-Haese attended the annual Lord Mayor’s Christmas Gala concert and agreed they would work together to ensure the 2015 Christmas Gala would be an exciting and engaging event that would include personal touches from the Lady Mayoress.
The result – the 2015 Lord Mayor’s Christmas Gala concert, hosted by Mister South Australia, Keith Conlon and featuring Christmas Pageant favourites and all manner of entertainment.
“Christmas is a time for giving, and I’m so pleased to be hosting, on behalf of my husband the Lord Mayor, such a great selection of entertainment including some of South Australia, and Adelaide’s favourites,” said Genevieve.
“As well as traditional Christmas carol singing, an appearance from Father Christmas and his elves, we’ll see performances from Young Adelaide Voices, the B# Male Voice Choir, the McCall Sisters, Bavarian Dance and the Adelaide Youth Strings.”
The Gala’s Artistic Director, Andrew Jefferis is pleased with the line-up of the program and is looking forward to seeing the audience enjoy the program.
“Keith Conlon will be hosting the on stage entertainment including an arm chair interview with Mr Christmas Pageant, Brian Gilbertson, who for many years has brought the Christmas Pageant to life for the hundreds of thousands of South Australians who line the streets of the city to see the pageant floats go by,” said Andrew.
The concert runs for two hours and will commence at 2pm in the Town Hall Auditorium. During the 20 minute interval, the Lady Mayoress and her dedicated group of volunteers will be spreading the Christmas cheer serving tea, coffee, cake and biscuits to guests.
“Seats are selling fast, so get in quick and make sure you join me for a great afternoon to celebrate Christmas and the benefits of living in Adelaide,” said Genevieve.
Tickets are complementary for City of Adelaide residents and can be secured at BASS outlets, online or by calling 131 246. Everyone is welcome to attend with nominal ticket prices for others starting at $5 for concession card holders, up to $15 for full price paying adults.
