The content of this media release is over six months old and may no longer be current.

Elder Park is set to come alive this New Year’s Eve, thanks to fireworks and a line-up of talented South Australian musicians, as part of the City of Adelaide’s annual free event by the riverbank.

The BankSA customer lounge is also a new addition to this year’s event, with BankSA customers able to enjoy access to an exclusive licensed lounge within the New Year’s Eve beer garden.

Gates open from 6pm, with the Nine News Fireworks, designed by award-winning Foti International Fireworks, set to light up the riverbank at both 9pm and midnight.

The free concert kicks off at 7pm with Atlantic Street Band, The Wholias, All Year Round, Germein Sisters, Jimmy and The Mirrors, as well as Lucky Seven joined by The Swing Sesh dancers.

DJ Tr!p will keep the beats going until 1am after the midnight fireworks.

Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood encourages locals and visitors to take advantage of a night of free entertainment and spectacular fireworks.

“It is the perfect opportunity for families and friends to get together and celebrate the New Year by the banks of the beautiful River Torrens in Elder Park,” Stephen said.

“We’ve selected a diverse mix of local acts, which will appeal to all tastes and ages, to perform from the historic Elder Park Rotunda.

“Together with the free fireworks, and a fantastic variety of food and wine on offer, it promises to be a great night out in the city to celebrate the end of 2013 and welcome the start of the New Year.

“It is great to have the support of local businesses, with this year’s principal partner Nine News Adelaide, supported by event partners Bank SA, Novatech Creative Event Technology, and Radio Partners Fiveaa and Nova.”

An array of international food stalls will be available, including: Beyond India, Bush Tucker Ice Cream, Ginza Japanese, Gourmet Grillerz, Just Chips, Ozzie Gozleme, Street Food Sicily, Taste of Spain and Vietnamese Food on the Run.

No BYO alcohol is permitted, with beverages available from the licensed event bar and beer garden.
