Community development grants

The Community Development Grants Program provides funding to eligible groups, organisations and individual residents who present applications that demonstrate consistency with the City of Adelaide Strategic Plan outcomes.

    Funding is available for applications that respond to the Grant Program priorities identified in the Community Development Grant Guidelines document.

    Funding categories

    The Community Development Grants Program has three funding categories and levels that are designed to respond to different needs in the community such as larger on-going projects, medium sized programming opportunities and small scale community initiatives. Please see below for further detail on these categories. 

      Download the Grants Budget template (for Quick Response and Minor Grants) and fill in prior to submitting your online application.

      For Major Grants please download a three year budget plan. You will be asked to upload this as part of your application.

      1. Major grants

      Up to $50,000 per year, 1 to 3 year funding agreements available*. 

      *City of Adelaide are currently reviewing the Major grant funding program as per the resolution passed by Council on 9 June 2020. It is intended for the review to be completed and findings presented to Council prior to the end of the financial year (June 2021).  Following this, the updated guidelines and applications will be made available in order to apply for funding.       2. Minor grants

      Up to $10,000 - currently closed

      3. Quick response grants

      Up to $2,000

      Applications open all year round until funds are exhausted.
