Plough and Harrow, Rundle Street, 1926

Established as the Cornwall Inn in 1838 at 128 Rundle Street (now Mall). Following a rebuild in 1844 it became the Plough and Harrow until the present Richmond Hotel was opened on the site in 1927.

SUPPOSED THIEF ARRESTED.
ADELAIDE, Friday.;
While entering the Plough and Harrow Hotel yesterday afternoon' the Rev Frederick Lewis Walker, Church of England minister at Balhannah. was caught from behind by a strange man whom he told to go away. Shortly afterward he found that his wallet, containing cheques, a postal note, and £30 in cash was missing.
Detectives arrested John Lawrence Lawson last night, and charged him with the offence. Lawson was brought before the Adelaide Police Court today, and remanded for a week on a charge of having stolen a wallet, valued at 10/, two cheques for £8/6/ and £5/18/8 respectively, a postal note for 10/ and £30 in money, the property of Frederick Lewis Walker. Defendant was allowed bail in one personal bond for £25, and one surety for a like amount.'
