Boutique Watering Holes

Up your drinks game and check out these small bars that are big on personality.

Mr Good Bar

12 Union Street, Adelaide SA 5000

Mr Goodbar is self-proclaimed as ‘a good place to sin’. Indulge your wild side with something a little heavy hitting like a Negroni, some French bubbles or perhaps just a good ol’ fashioned Coopers Pale Ale. As you wander in, you’re greeted with the sign ‘FINE LIQUORS’ that reaffirms you have come to the right place.

You can pay Mr Goodbar a visit on Union Street in the East End.

The Hennessy Bar

Level 13, Mayfair Hotel, 45 King William Street, Adelaide SA 5000

The HENNESSY Rooftop Bar is situated atop the 5 star Mayfair Hotel. The Bar's lush green vertical garden, heavenly underfloor heating and gorgeous views of the city-skyline is the perfect backdrop to treat yourself. Enjoy a drink from their carefully curated list of premium wine, beer and spirits, or try a house cocktail. The Hennessy Rooftop Bar is a little bit fancy, so dress to impress and make it a night to remember!

Pink Moon Saloon

21 Leigh Street, Adelaide

Pink Moon Saloon - the teeny, tiny bar located in a laneway off a laneway! It’s cemented itself as a local favourite and makes up for the lack of personal space with signature drinks like the Mandarin Aviation and a menu of wood fire oven treats. Pink Moon Saloon has taken out loads of awards including our very own City of Adelaide Prize in 2016 which recognises innovative architecture, 2017 Bar of the Year by Gourmet Traveller, and the Best Bar in Australia and Pacific region of 2016 at the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards in London.

Head over to check out the décor and stay for a cocktail...or three.

La Buvette Drinkery

27 Gresham Street, Adelaide SA 5000

Nestled in Gresham Street, this aperitif bar has all the understatedly chic details you’d expect from a French watering hole. La Buvette loosely translates to a spot you gather with your nearest and dearest, often with snacks and wine. The wine list takes an au naturel approach, boasting only French and local varieties with minimal intervention i.e. no preservatives. Once you have soaked up all the Parisian-style details, turn your attention to their menu for some delicious nibbles.

Cantina Sociale

108 Sturt Street, Adelaide SA 5000

Step into Southern Italy at Cantina Sociale. The space sports exposed brick, timber detailing and barrels upon barrels of vino. Cantina Sociale are serious when they say they are bringing a wine experience you cannot get anywhere else. They literally take wines that are not available for purchase, may it be in-store or at other bars. They work directly with growers to bring you trickles that will never see the inside of a bottle.

If you are looking to linger longer, the tapas menu provides the perfect selection to graze through the day or satisfy a voracious appetite. You had us at duck rillettes and chicken pâté.
