It’s the party that defines a city! The Southern Hemisphere’s largest arts festival, Adelaide Fringe, returns for another month of divine madness from February 15 to March 17.
Thousands of artists from across Australia and around the world will descend on the city to offer festival-goers more than 1300 shows from high-octane circus to solo theatre productions, standup comedy to art exhibitions. More than 500 spaces across the city are transformed into performance venues, including traditional theatres, alleyways, vacant building and the city’s parklands.
Festival highlights include the Opening Night celebrations and Tindo Utpurndee – Sunset Ceremony along with the Yabarra: Gathering of Light interactive experience across all 31 nights of the Fringe.
Held for the first time in 2019, Yabarra: Gathering of Light will illuminate the Torrens riverbank reeds, surrounding grasslands and paths to share stories from the local Kaurna culture. The immersive cultural experience will bring to life native animals and Aboriginal storytelling through mesmerising interactive installations of projection, sound and light.
