Event Submission Guidelines
City of Adelaide is committed to providing accurate and relevant information about events in and around the City. We welcome most events however are not obliged to list events submitted and reserve the right to edit or decline any event at our discretion.
To be listed, events must:
- occur at a venue or location within the 5000, 5001, 5005 and 5006 postcode
- be open to the general public
- have broad appeal for people from the local community as well as visitors to our area
- be submitted by the event organiser or authorised agent
- be specific, finalised and confirmed prior to submission. Events with dates or locations yet to be announced cannot be listed.
All content submitted including images, are subject to review by our editors. Please allow 5 working days for this process to take place.
Our editors review submissions to ensure each listing meets the guidelines and is consistent with City of Adelaide’s style. This helps ensure high quality content for the community and your event.
A recurring/ongoing event will be listed for a maximum of 3 months, after which time you will need to re-submit an event form.
While reasonable effort has been taken to ensure the accuracy of information on the What’s On page, the City of Adelaide makes no representation as to the accuracy, currency, reliability or suitability of the information.
What’s On lists events that take place within City of Adelaide’s boundaries. However, we welcome events in suburbs on the city fringe that form part of neighbouring councils.

How can I submit an event to What's On?
Submitting an event to What’s On is easy. Simply fill out the submit an event form and once finished, click submit.
All event listings must meet our submission guidelines. You are encouraged to read the guidelines before submitting your event to save time and effort.
What events can be listed on What's On?
For an event to be considered for publication to What’s On, it must meet our event submission guidelines.
While we welcome most events, City of Adelaide is not obliged to list events submitted and reserves the right to edit or decline any event.
Do you confirm events taking place?
Event confirmation is the responsibility of organiser or authorised agent.
We are committed to providing accurate and timely information about events listed but rely on event organisers to keep us informed on any updates or cancellations.

What are the specs for images?
Main images for events must have a minimum width of 790 pixels and a minimum height of 380 pixels. Image file sizes cannot be larger than 0.5MB. Each event must have 1 main image. Submissions with no images may be declined.
You are encouraged to browse through current events that are listed on What’s On to get an idea of the kind of images that display best. We highly recommend landscape-oriented photo with no text.
You must hold the copyright to use images or be an authorised agent to do so.
When adding photos, please ensure:
- they are free of text, logos or marketing messages
- they accurately represent the nature of your event
- you own the copyright or have permission from the copyright owner
- you have permission from any people that can be identified in the image
- if children are identifiable, you have written consent from their parent/guardian
Non photo-based submissions may be declined.
How long does it take to review an event I've submitted?
We aim to review all submissions within 3 working days.
