New Year’s Eve 2019 event - vendor support

The annual City of Adelaide New Year’s Eve event in Elder Park attracts over 50,000 people over the duration of the event. The program includes live music, a dedicated kid’s zone, roving performers, catering outlets, licenced bar areas, and two fireworks displays.

The New Year’s Eve vendor support volunteers provide waste management support to vendors before, during and after the event.

This may include providing waste management information/education, waste-sorting, litter collection and appropriate disposal (this will be physical work with appropriate personal protective equipment).

There will be a choice of three shifts: 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm, 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm and/or 9:30 pm to 12:30 am.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about environmental sustainability, enjoys large-scale community events and meeting new people from diverse backgrounds, can work in crowded settings and is available to do an evening or late night shift on New Years Eve.

A briefing session will be held prior to the event to ensure good understanding and confidence in the role.
