The AdLib Hour terms & conditions

  • These are the Terms and Conditions for The AdLib Hour podcasting program competition (“the Competition”).
  • The Competition is promoted by City of Adelaide (ABN 20 903 762 572) and its partner, Radio Adelaide.
  • Entry into the Competition is free.
  • In order to enter the Competition entrants must be:
    • aged 12 years or older, and
    • a South Australian resident, and
    • available to attend the rehearsal date, and
    • available to present their story at the Live Show.
  • City of Adelaide staff, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter the Competition.
  • To enter the Competition, entrants must submit a story or stories which is/are the entrants’ own unpublished original work/s.
  • Entrants may submit a maximum of two stories for each theme. Each submission needs to be completed in a separate application.
  • A maximum of one story per entrant will be eligible for inclusion in each podcast theme.
  • To enter the Competition, entrants must complete the entry form.
  • Please refer to our webpage for themes as well as key dates of the Competition, including when story submissions open and close; rehearsal dates; The AdLib Hour Live Show dates and broadcast dates.
  • Successful entrants will be notified by phone or email of the outcome of their submission within four weeks of the submission closure date.
  • Successful entrants will be invited to record their story for the AdLib Hour podcast program.
  • Successful entrants will not receive a monetary prize or compensation for their stories.
  • All story submissions will be reviewed and shortlisted by Adelaide City Library staff and volunteers. Stories will be selected based on the following criteria:
    • The story is suitable for a 'G-rated' general audience, including children
    • That your story is aligned to the Community Radio Codes of Practice. We celebrate diverse voices and stories.
    • The story is socially inclusive and does not adhere to any particular belief to the exclusion of others
    • The story is relevant to the theme
    • The story is engaging
    • The speaker is an effective presenter
    • The story is relevant to life in Adelaide
    • The variety and diversity of the collection of stories for the monthly program
  • Selection of successful entries is at the at the sole discretion of City of Adelaide.
  • If a successful entrant is unable to attend the rehearsal date or The AdLib Hour Live Show dates and broadcast dates, then that entry is no longer eligible and another successful entrant will be chosen. A proxy presenter may be considered in rare cases in order to support accessibility and inclusion. This will be at the discretion of City of Adelaide.
  • By submitting your story you consent to presenting your story and having your voice recorded, edited, broadcast on radio and published as a podcast by Radio Adelaide and City of Adelaide.
  • The Competition and The AdLib Hour is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. As an entrant you completely release Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  • Entry into the Competition is deemed as acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice.

I understand that photographs and audiovisual footage (including but not limited to image, likeness and voice) (Recordings) of me/my child(ren) may be taken by or on behalf of the City of Adelaide or Radio Adelaide, and hereby agree that City of Adelaide and Radio Adelaide can use, copy, edit, adapt, modify, distribute and exhibit the Recordings in whole or in part, in any form or media, for any reasonable purpose, including educational or promotional purposes.

I understand and accept that there is no remuneration or other compensation payable to me (or the named child(ren), if I am signing this form as parent/guardian) in respect of the Recordings or their use, and acknowledge that I (and the child(ren) named above, if I am signing this form as parent/guardian) have no ownership or other entitlement in respect of the Recordings or publishing of my story.

I understand that I will retain ownership and Intellectual Property of my story but that City of Adelaide/Radio Adelaide will be the sole owner of all rights, including copyright, in the Recordings, from creation, and hereby assign to City of Adelaide any rights in the Recordings that I/the named child(ren) may otherwise have.

I also acknowledge that I have no right to be notified of, inspect or approve any proposed use of the Recordings, and hereby consent, including on behalf of the named child(ren) if applicable, to all possible uses (including but not limited to the adaptation, reproduction, rearrangement, editing, alteration, addition or deletion) and exploitation of the Recordings, and agree not to enforce and otherwise waive to the fullest extent legally possible, any moral rights or performers rights that I (or the named child(ren), if I am signing this as parent/guardian) may have now or in the future in respect of such materials.

If you have given permission for the City of Adelaide to share your story either in written or recorded form on the Adelaide City Libraries website or social media you acknowledge that you will not be notified or remunerated for your story.


Rundle Mall Business Incentive Program terms & conditions

  1. The promoter of the Public Place Organics Recycling Pilot Business Incentives Program (‘the program’) is the Corporation of the City of Adelaide (Council), (ABN No 20 903 762 572).
  2. The program will be open between 1 April 2022 and 30 April 2023 (‘program period’).
  3. The program is only open to Eligible Cafes as defined in the program main webpage. Pop-up cafés within the project boundary area must be active at that location for a total of 60 days (consecutively) to be eligible for this incentive program.
  4. Entrants must have an active email address, hold a valid ABN and maintain a valid lease or freehold.
  5. Category limit for Business Incentive 1: Rundle Mall Compostable Product Voucher: Eligible Cafés can apply once for this incentive if they meet the criteria.
  6. Category limit for Business Incentive 2: Rundle Mall Organic Waste Service Rebate: Eligible Cafés can apply twice for this incentive. Billing invoices from a licensed waste operator must be presented for each application, and the billing period must not overlap.
  7. Eligible Cafés must complete the application via the Open Forms online platform. Entry is free.
  8. Successful applications for Business Incentive 1 will receive a voucher valued at $1200 for the chosen supplier identified by the Eligible Café on their submitted application. Products obtained through the voucher can only be used at the café location identified on the submitted application. The voucher can only be used to replace a single-use plastic takeaway product with a certified compostable product. An Eligible Café can only apply for a voucher once during the program period. Takeaway products that are eligible for purchase include coffee cups, coffee cup lids, clear cups, clear cup lids, serving bowl/plates, open trays, takeaway bowls/containers, takeaway bowl/container lids, sushi trays, takeaway clamshells, takeaway carriers/platters, and sauce cups/lids. Single-use takeaway products that are already prohibited through the South Australia’s Single-use and Other Plastic Products (Waste Avoidance) Act 2020 are not eligible for this incentive.
  9. Successful applicants for the voucher will receive a unique code via email. The code must be given to the supplier upon use of the voucher. The supplier must provide the code when submitting a request for payment from Council.
  10. Suppliers must only supply certified compostable products. If the supplier provides a product not approved, they will be liable for replacing the café’s purchase with a certified compostable product.
  11. The chosen Supplier must make contact with the Eligible Café within two weeks after the voucher application being approved.
  12. Vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash. Vouchers are not transferrable. Vouchers are valid for one use only and cannot be reused. Voucher must be used in complete dollar value or nearest to dollar value.
  13. Voucher is only eligible for purchasing certified compostable products. Acceptable certifications include Australian Standards (AS 4736 commercial and AS 5810 home), US Standard (ASTM D6400), European Standards (EN 13432, TUV OK HOME and TUV OK INDUSTRIAL).
  1. Council makes no representation, expressly or implied, as to the quality, reliability or suitability of the voucher supplier and expressly disclaims any liability. Any problems associated with the voucher supplier should be brought to the attention of the respective supplier.
  2. Suppliers must have the capacity to participate in the program period.
  3. Any residual value is forfeited, and voucher is voided for further use. No compensation will be payable if an Eligible Café is unable to use any element of the voucher as stated for whatever reason. Any part of the voucher that is not taken for any reason is forfeited.
  4. Applications for Business Incentive 2 will be reviewed by an assessor to verify the submitted information. If successful, the Council will make the payment via EFT transfer.
  5. Successful applications for Business Incentive 2 will receive a rebate valued at $400 after providing evidence of organic waste services from a licensed waste contractor over a consecutive period of two months. Eligible Cafés can apply for this incentive twice. Billing invoices from a licensed waste operator must be presented for each application, and the billing period must not overlap. Organic waste bins must be stored in compliance with the City of Adelaide Waste Management by-laws 2018. Waste must be managed by the individual café and not by a building manager or landlord.
  6. The approved suppliers may change at any time and suppliers may opt to have exclusion days or periods when the voucher may not be redeemed.
  7. The decision in relation to any aspect of the submitted application is final.
  8. Council accepts no responsibility for applications not received for any reason during the program period. Applications will be deemed to be accepted at the time of receipt by the Eligible Café of the confirmation of submission. No responsibility will be taken for lost, late or misdirected applications. Council is not responsible for technical difficulties with the application mechanism and does not warrant that the application mechanism will be available at all times.
  9. The incentive program funding is subject to Council’s annual budget processes and accordingly the funding is limited.
  10. Council has the right to cease the program at any time without notification and applications are not guaranteed to receive funding.
  11. The applicant acknowledges and agrees that the Council accepts no liability in respect of any claim, cause of actions, loss or damage arising out of, or in relation to, any device purchased or service procured under the incentive program.
  12. It may take Council up to 30 working days after receiving an application to pay the agreed rebate amount in accordance with the guidelines (if an application is successful).
  13. Council may request provision of information associated with the system and usage data for the preparation of a case study.
  14. Café may be highlighted through social media.
  15. Supplier must not use Eligible Café contact details for any use other than for this program.
