To help you assess your house performance against different noise sources and suggest if acoustic treatments might help reduce them, the City of Adelaide provides a Noise Ready Reckoner. The tool is the first of its type in Australia and should be used as a guide.

Using the Noise Ready Reckoner

Please read the Noise Ready Reckoner fact sheet before use.

To use the tool, you will need to enter the following information for each room:

  • general information about the effected room
  • the windows in the effected room
  • the external doors in the effected room
  • one or more noise sources.
