Waymouth Street Party Energises West End This Friday

The Waymouth Street party is back for the fourth year in a row promising more fabulous food, street theatre, live music and glorious fun on Friday 6 March from 4pm until 10pm.

Waymouth Street will be the destination of choice for scrumptious street food, tantalising beverages, eclectic music and street theatre right in the heart of Adelaide’s smart and savvy business district.

Presented by Splash Adelaide and supported by the Adelaide West End Association and Dbusiness Events, this street party will transform Waymouth Street into a hip and sophisticated venue.

Lord Mayor Martin Haese is looking forward to experiencing his first Waymouth Street Party as Lord Mayor and said the businesses in Waymouth Street and surrounds should be applauded for initiating the event and ultimately taking ownership.

“The Waymouth Street Party is a great example of where Splash Adelaide has been able to assist in bringing a City street to life, and where the community has continued to add further life and take ownership of the event,” said Martin.

Coordinator of the Adelaide West End Association, Helen Page believes a street party is a great way to relax into the weekend, grab a bite to eat, enjoy some entertainment and the laid-back atmosphere of an autumn evening.

“People enjoy seeing spaces being used in different ways and the street will be closed to traffic from Waymouth Place to Topham Mall. Events like this have opened many people’s eyes to the possibilities within our city,” said Helen.

Along with local DJs there will be live music by world class high energy Didgeridoo Drum n Bass act aMDee and Adelaide’s own Electro-Funk band The Levitators, which are not to be missed.
