Voting now open for 2017 City of Adelaide Prize
Voting for the People’s Choice category of the City of Adelaide Prize is now open.
Run by the SA Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects and sponsored by the City of Adelaide, the Prize is a category in the prestigious South Australian Architecture Awards with the winner to be announced on 10 June.
The awards include projects such as public art, landscape works, and temporary contributions to public space that actively engage the community and enhance the City.
The winner of the 2016 City of Adelaide Prize was awarded to Pink Moon Saloon by Sans-Arc Studio. The recipient of the People’s Choice award was Zoos SA Nature’s Play Ground by Phillips/Pilkington Architect and WAX Design.
City of Adelaide Lord Mayor Martin Haese said that the Council has a long association with the Prize, which attracts innovative projects that showcase some of Adelaide’s best architecture.
“Each year I am impressed by the calibre of design and construction in Adelaide and the huge amount of innovation and creativity on offer in our city,” Martin said.
“The City of Adelaide Prize highlights the role of design in the creation of successful public spaces while also promoting good design to the broader community.
“I congratulate all nominees and encourage the community to vote for their favourite project before the ballots close on 12 May.”

• Tidlanga Playspace and Pocket Orchard by City of Adelaide
• Anzac Centenary Memorial Walk by Grieve Gillett Andersen with Tract Consulting
• Peter Rabbit by James McIntyre
• ArtBox by Walter Brooke
• Colonel Light Centre Green Wall by City of Adelaide with Junglefy and CHEB Art and Design
• Shopfront Improvement Grant Program: Creating Great Shopfronts by City of Adelaide
• Australian Fashion Labels Global HQ by Hosking Willis Architecture
• Rundle Mall Redevelopment by HASSELL
Those who vote will go in the draw to win a copy of THE POOL Architecture, Culture and Identity in Australia.
The winner will be announced at the South Australia Institute of Architects Awards Night on Saturday, 10th June 2017.
