Looking for something to keep the kids busy for hours this weekend and next? Well Kid Central kicks off tomorrow in Victoria Square / Tarntanyangga to keep them entertained for hours on end.

Presented by Carclew and City of Adelaide, Kid Central is about providing a free Fringe haven for families that will feature hands-on arts workshops, performances, artisan market stalls, water play zone and so much more.

Lord Mayor Martin Haese said that activating Victoria Square for creative events like Kid Central is great for the city.

“This is precisely the type of family-friendly event we love to see in the city, and Victoria Square with its central location and easy access to public transport is ideal,” said Martin.

Carclew CEO Tricia Walton looked forward to working with City of Adelaide on what promises to be a great event for children and families in the heart of the CBD.

"Carclew has welcomed the opportunity to work with City of Adelaide to provide high quality arts experiences specifically designed for children and their families,” said Tricia.

“Kid Central will be front and centre for families during the busy Fringe and Festival season, focusing entirely on the creative interests of children.

“The whole program is free and all are welcome. Victoria Square is the heart of the city so what better place for our children to be!"

More information is available at the Carclew website and the Facebook event page. Event hours are midday to 5pm this weekend as well as the 25th and 26th of February.

The Kid Central opening event will be held this Saturday at midday.
