SCAM ALERT: City of Adelaide Warns Against Impersonator Demanding Fine Payment Over The Phone

City of Adelaide has today had reports of a person contacting local businesses demanding payment for fines over the phone.

The impersonator claims to be either a “Safety Officer”, “Audit Officer” or “Environmental Health Officer”.

Council encourages anyone contacted to question the validity of the phone call, especially if you are unaware of having any outstanding fines.

Council does not initiate calls to customers requesting payment for fines over the phone unless it is following written correspondence or an invoice being sent. In these instances a range of payment options will be made.
