Rundle Mall Redevelopment:  Not just a paving job

City of Adelaide has invested $30 million over three years into the Rundle Mall Redevelopment to build a strong foundation as a world class shopping destination that attracts visitors who want a unique retail experience.

The project delivers new lighting, high-quality paving, landscaping and urban elements, as well as essential services infrastructure to future-proof the Mall.

With a vision to capture the confidence of local and international retail, sustain the Mall’s vibrancy as the retail heart of the city and to position it as an interconnected city space for Adelaide, it is necessary for the Rundle Mall redevelopment project to have a strong foundation.

You can find this foundation for the new Rundle Mall underground.

The Rundle Mall redevelopment is not just a paving job. Beneath the new paving is an array of new infrastructure to support Rundle Mall’s civic and retail activity.

This includes water and electricity for 12 Plug and Play pop-up retail spaces, power for catenary lighting and stormwater drainage to help shop fronts and their basements stay dry during storms.
