Queen Adelaide’s Birthday Morning Tea

Each year around the 13th August the Mayor of the City of Adelaide hosts a morning tea in honour of the city’s namesake – Queen Adelaide, a royal who played a significant part in shaping our city throughout her lifetime.

This year is no exception with the Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood expecting to host more than 20 Adelaides ranging from the very young to the very elderly at a morning tea on Tuesday 13th August at 11am.

“We’re expecting around 120 guests at the event, and this year we’re expecting even more of them to be Adelaides than last year,” Stephen said.

“It’s great to see the event grow from strength to strength each year and it’s always a delight to meet all the Adelaides young and not so young.

“The ornate Queen Adelaide Room, which houses some of Queen Adelaide’s finest possessions, really is an apt location for all the Adelaides to converge and celebrate our city’s and their own name-sake’s birthday,” said Stephen.
