The four-week community consultation around Mobile Food Vending closed at the end of August with an unprecedented number of responses.

As a result of the volume of responses, Council’s administration will take time to carefully consider and deliberate on the feedback as it relates to the future of Mobile Food Vending Guidelines for the whole city.

Lord Mayor Martin Haese said the consultation, which is aimed at improving the balance for all traders in the city’s evolving culture and economy, received feedback a broad cross section of the community.

“It’s important for us to get this right; we need to support our businesses - fixed and mobile - who all contribute to the life and colour of our city,” said Martin.

“Feedback from the four week consultation has been very insightful, and our administration is keen to ensure their recommendations accurately represent the views of the community.”

A report on the results and recommendations from the consultation will be put before the Economic and Community Development Committee on 20 October before going before the full Council the following week.
