Get Ready For Another Summer Of Splash Adelaide

The content of this media release is over six months old and may no longer be current.

Adelaide is the place to be this summer as City of Adelaide’s SPLASH Adelaide program gets set to bring to life more of the streets of Adelaide through a program of over 80 events ranging from night markets, to exhibitions, murals and workshops to sensorial experience with something for everyone.

City of Adelaide Lord Mayor Martin Haese said the range and depth of activities and events that make up Splash Adelaide this summer is even greater than in other years.

“There really is no excuse not to participate, with much on offer, at all times of the day and evening, I really do encourage everyone to get into the city and North Adelaide and become part of SPLASH Adelaide,” said Martin.

“We have the perfect climate in Adelaide for outdoor events and activities, especially during the summer months where the weather is warmer and the days longer. I’ll be out and about amongst it, and hope to see as many other people out and about too.

“Whether it’s food, music, art or something else altogether there is sure to be something to delight almost everyone. Splash Adelaide really has been a runaway success and with so much on offer it’s easy to see why people like to be part of it,” he said.

The popular North Adelaide event LastFRIDAY, located on the corner of O’Connell and Archer Streets will hold its final event for 2015 on 27 November and people are invited to join well-known Adelaide artist Emma Hack to paint the fence along the old Le Cornu site.

The Adelaide Night Market, a place to eat, play, relax and linger, is held once a month during daylight savings often on the last Sunday of the month in Prince Henry Garden, North Terrace. The markets feature the flavours of the world – some of the best street food that the city has to offer, alongside an array of artisan, clothing, jewellery, cultural goods and local gourmet produce.

Square Fire is set to kick off at 3pm on Saturday 12 December in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga. This FREE event features a fire show, day workshops and activities, food vans, vendors of spinning equipment [fire and non-fire] and is suitable for all ages.
