Commemorative service to celebrate the life of Quentin Kenihan

South Australians from all walks of life will gather at the Adelaide Town Hall to celebrate the remarkable life of Quentin Kenihan on Sunday 28 October.

Jointly hosted by the State Government and the City of Adelaide, the event will honour Quentin as a great South Australian who captured the hearts of the nation, overcame significant challenges to live an amazing life, and was a fierce advocate for people living with a disability.

“Quentin was one of South Australia’s favourite sons,” said Premier Steven Marshall.

“Despite his well-documented health challenges, he lived a remarkable life and will be remembered for his appearances on radio, on TV, in film, and as a fixture around the streets of Adelaide.

“His advocacy for an inclusive playground in the CBD will see his vision delivered, with the State Government and City of Adelaide working to progress this project which will ensure Quentin’s memory lives on.”

Lord Mayor Martin Haese said the City of Adelaide was honoured to host such a special event at Town Hall where South Australians can gather to remember Quentin’s contributions and achievements.

“Quentin had a huge impact on people in this city, South Australia and right across the world, and Council looks forward to welcoming everyone to this service in his honour,” said the Lord Mayor.

“I knew Quentin for 25 years and am sure that this celebration will appropriately reflect upon his passion, determination and love of the community he sought to serve as a Councillor.”
