City of Adelaide Update Regarding CBD Fire

Fire investigators are still at the scene of yesterday’s fire investigating what caused it. Once they have finished, they will hand the building back to the property owner.

Engineers will inspect the building and provide Council with information to enable us to determine what happens next. Our City Growth & Investment team are ready to work with the property owner to see if we can provide any assistance to the businesses that were located in the fire-affected building.

Council did not have any knowledge of squatters being in the laneway behind the building or in the building, noting that it is private property secured by a gate and inaccessible to the general public.
