From the Easter Bilby to the AFL, there are plenty of things to do in the City this Easter long weekend so City of Adelaide has made a list of 11 Eggcellent things to do between Friday 3 and Monday 6 April.

Council’s bucket list includes all things Easter from Easter egg hunts to an Easter themed art exhibition, to AFL at the Adelaide Oval to extended shopping and everything in between.

Lord Mayor Martin Haese said there is something for everyone in city this weekend whether you’re young or old, into Easter festivities or trying to avoid the chocolate indulgence.

“Bring the family in to meet the Easter Bilby at the Zoo, open all weekend, or get lost in the many Easter egg hunts happening around the city,” Martin said.

“The Central Market and Rundle Mall will both be open late on the Thursday before Easter and open as usual on Saturday. Rundle Mall will be business as usual on Saturday and Sunday with additional trading between 11am and 5pm on Monday.

“There’s an Easter egg hunt at the Art Gallery of South Australia so why not make a day of it and visit the East End for a meal or a movie, SA Museum or the Botanic Gardens too.

“The Garden Party SpEGGtacular in Rundle Mall is under the Mall Canopy from 11am – 5pm on Sunday - there really is something for everyone all weekend.

“We really want people to come into the City and enjoy the extended hours and Easter festivities,” he said.

The Intercontinental is offering a chic Easter dining experience at the Riverside Restaurant complete with chocolate fountain and macaroon tower and the Easter Bunny will pay a special visit so bring the whole family.

The Crows will take on the Kangaroos at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday with kick off at 2.30 pm. People can stop by the Mall to do some shopping or grab a bite to eat before or after the game.

Why not catch the bus, tram or train in and enjoy a beverage or two at Volkstanzfest at the German Club.

UPark Frome Street, Light Square and Grote Street will be open all Easter. Wyatt Street, Pirie/Flinders Street, Rundle Street, Gawler Place, Topham Mall and Central Markets are closed on Good Friday.

A $7 flat rate will apply to all UParks open over Easter long weekend.
