At this stage, there will be 4 fireworks shows across 3 locations.

The 'Light Up' family event at Rymill Park / Murlawirrapurka will have two hybrid fireworks/lighting shows at 9:30 pm and midnight. Most of the Midnight Moment events will have a view of fireworks shows to be launched from nearby vantage points.

For best views of fireworks, book at ticket to ‘Light Up’ or one the five Midnight Moment locations.

The cancellation of 2020 festivities has meant Council needed to re-think its NYE strategy. This new event format spreads the large crowd across a number of areas in the city and North Adelaide, providing an option that meets the needs of community and business.

NYE has been held at Elder Park for 10 years and in 2019 attracted approximately 80,000 people. We needed to create a smaller, bespoke event which spreads the crowd but still feels lively. With Gluttony’s help we feel Rymill Park / Murlawirrapurka is the best space for this.

To ensure your safety and the safety of others at these events, all attendees must adhere to COVID SAFE check-in requirements, physical distancing (1.5m) and good personal hygiene practices.

Before attending, please check the SA Health guidelines and the latest exposure site listDo not attend an event if you are unwell or have attended an exposure location.

For COVID-19 safety information at Light Up NYE please refer to the Gluttony website.

We are working closely with SA Health to understand the requirements. At this stage, there has been no direction for people to be vaccinated to attend NYE in the City.
